El Lurchio: Gastronomical Wonder, is a skilled sideshow performer, focusing on acts that revolve around the stomach, sword swallowing, Gavage, regurgitation and water spouting. Having spent several years researching and learning sideshow acts and numerous variations on them, the skills on offer are to a high level. When performing, El Lurchio's main go-to act, is sword swallowing, and as well as being a highly skilled sword swallower, his main line of work is in providing the sword swallowing community with its finest, custom made sword swallowing props. The swords made by El Lurchio are not only made by a sword swallower, they are also tested by a sword swallower, with each sword being tested before it leaves the premises.
Although El Lurchio has been about for several years now, performing has been somewhat sporadic, however, that hasn't stopped him making a number of guest appearances with The Circus Of Horrors on their tours, as well as working with them at The Great Dorset Steam Fair a few times. He set a new world record in sword swallowing, becoming the first person ever known to have swallowed multiple curved swords, been in Zoo Weekly (a lads mag, not a publication on animals) in Australia, performed at Ripley's Believe It Or Not! London, and was even featured in the Ripley's Believe It Or Not! cartoon. He is one of a small number of sword swallowers to use a neon sword, and one of three sword swallowers in the world to have pulled a vehicle with a swallowed sword. El Lurchio has made appearances on Britain's Got Talent, Das Supertalent in Germany, Cesko Slovensko Ma Talent in Czechoslovakia, been in a music video for a Scroobius Pip v's Dan Le Sac single, had a student film crew interview me when he was running a show at London Wonderground on Southbank in London. You can even find El Lurchio in David Blaine's show "Beyond Magic" when he was a consultant on the show, teaching David Blaine to swallow and bring up live frogs.
Consulting isn't something that has been given much thought until working as a consultant for David Blaine, or even since, but that's not to say it's something that El Lurchio wouldn't do again.
David Blaine teaching me the only card trick I've ever known.
The deck on the left were given to me bt David when I was consulting and filming for Beyond Magic, the deck on the right arrived just after Beyond Magic aired in the UK in December 2016.
You'l see me in the credits for David Blaine: Beyond Magic. I'm listed under "magic advisor", as Ian Brown.
Here are the three people alive today who are known to have swallowed live frogs to the stomach, and bring the frogs up unharmed. I was first, then I taught David Blaine how to do it, then my friend Brett Loudermilk. It made sense that we got a picture in front of the Mac Norton poster.
I figured I may as well get a picture of my old business card next to a load of David Blaine's cards that were laying about.
The sword David Blaine used for the xray in Beyond Magic was made by me, here's a picture of the xray that was used to promote the show on ABC in the US.
